Astronaut Toy Growing Pet 4.5 x 6.5cm

This astronaut toy is a growing pet with a space twist. Drop the white speckled grow egg into water and, over a day or two, the shell cracks and a little astronaut hatches out and keeps growing. At 4.5 x 6.5cm it is a small hatching egg toy that space fans can check on day by day, and it works well with our science kits. The boxed egg makes a fun space party bag filler or stocking filler.

1. Put the egg in a glass or bowl and fill it with water until the egg is fully covered. Use water under 35°C (95°F).
2. Leave it to soak. After 12 to 24 hours the shell slowly cracks and the astronaut starts to push its way out. Keep the container topped up with water.
3. Once the shell has broken away completely, add fresh water. The astronaut is fully grown after about 48 hours.
4. Move the growing astronaut to another container if you like, and check on it each day to see how it has grown.
