Most of our science kits suit ages 5 and up with adult supervision. Simple grow-and-watch kits are great for younger kids, while crystal growing and dig kits suit primary school ages.
How does a crystal growing kit work?
You dissolve the crystal powder in warm water, pour the solution over the base, and crystals form as the water evaporates. Follow the kit instructions, keep it somewhere still, and try not to move it while it grows.
How long do crystals take to grow?
Most crystal tree and crystal growing kits show results within a few hours and keep growing over one to two days. Warm, dry air speeds things up.
How do grow pets and hatching eggs work?
Place the toy in water and it slowly absorbs it and grows over a few days. Hatching eggs crack open in water to reveal a little toy inside. Just remember the water-grown toys are not food.
What is a dig kit?
A dig kit hides a surprise inside a block of plaster, which kids carefully chip away with the included tools, just like a real archaeologist. Our Mystery Egypt Dig it Out kit is a hands-on history lesson. Lay down newspaper, as it can get dusty.
